What will be your responsibilities?
- Conduct regular and thorough machine inspections following OEM standards, compile quotations, open and close jobs, and provide detailed maintenance reports to both the customer and Komatsu.
- Discuss the above reports with the customer and assist in compiling action plans to address the identified issues, while maintaining open communication channels with the customer and the BIA site management team.
- Utilize these reports to drive parts and service sales to the customer.
- Lead maintenance initiatives and make recommendations to improve machine availability, maintenance staff performance, and ensure correct repair procedures and work practices are followed.
- Comply with the customer's safety regulations, safety standards, and any customer-specific safety standards. Consistently monitor adherence to Tag-Out and Lock-Out procedures.
- Strive to ensure that all individuals working on Komatsu equipment are fully aware of the risks and hazards involved, and report unsafe acts to the relevant authorities.
- Provide tooling and service-related advice to the customer to promote and improve higher levels of workmanship, reduced labor times, effective troubleshooting, and PM-Clinic services.
- Assist in the compilation of maintenance reports, which will be used by the customer to maintain the equipment.
- Assist in parts planning, particularly for maintenance, rebuilds, and planned work.
- Demonstrate best working practices in line with OEM standards.
- Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by the Technical Sales Representative.
Who are we looking for?
1. Educational Background
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Heavy Equipment Repair Diploma, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
Relevant coursework in maintenance systems, reliability engineering, or operations management is a plus.
2. Technical Knowledge
- Understanding of maintenance principles (preventive, predictive, corrective).
- Familiarity with equipment, tools, and safety protocols.
- Exposure to CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) or similar tools is beneficial.
3. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
- Ability to diagnose technical issues and propose logical solutions.
- Experience with troubleshooting in internships, or personal projects.
4. Leadership and Teamwork Potential
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate teams or lead projects in academic or extracurricular settings.
- Willingness to take initiative and manage small groups or tasks.
5. Communication and Documentation Skills
- Clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to document maintenance procedures, reports, and logs accurately.
6. Organizational and Planning Skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage schedules, and track maintenance activities.
- Exposure to project planning tools or techniques is a plus.
