Summary

 

We are looking for a motivated candidate to help support and operationalize the Group Sustainability Strategy by monitoring action plans, and assisting cross-functional stakeholders on Sustainability projects. He/She will contribute to sustainability reporting, carbon footprint and decarbonization projects, and awareness initiatives, while providing technical support, data analysis, research, and project management to drive continuous sustainability performance and engagement across the organization.

 

What will be your responsibilities?

 

Sustainability Planning and Implementation:

 

  • Help develop and implement the Sustainability Objectives of the Sustainability Strategy, follow-up on the different projects and action plans assigned to him/her, define priorities and follow-up actions, in close coordination with the Group HO Sustainability.
  • Prepares internal support material to report on the progress on the different sustainability objectives, targets and KPIs.
  • Handles the regular recording of the advancement of the strategic projects in the appropriate project management tools (e.g. Smartsheet tool, …).

 

Reporting and Data Analysis:

 

  • Take an active role in the annual carbon footprint exercise: from kick-off, through data collection, to the analysis and reporting phase.
  • Review and analyze data for the company's carbon footprint, including emissions from logistics, travel, consumption, waste, and buildings to spot errors, draw conclusions, analyze trends (in comparison with previous years for instance).
  • Follow-up on CO2 reduction objectives and help establish and monitor action plans for reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Take an active role in the preparation and issuance of the annual Integrated Sustainability Report, including the project of regulatory compliance with EU legal requirements related to CSRD / ESRS reporting requirements: double materiality analysis, data collection, data verification, writing of the ESRS content statements, … up to the final publication of the report.
  • Prepare internal and external material to support the reporting on Sustainability Performance.

 

Stakeholder Engagement:

 

  • Help prepare responses to customer inquiries or assessments regarding Sustainability.
  • Help with stakeholder interviews in the Double Materiality Analysis exercise.
  • Handle any Sustainability Assessment annually (such as potentially Ecovadis or other) and help communicate results to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Act as the main point of contact between stakeholders and the organization, ensuring effective communication and alignment of goals.

 

Any other cognate duties

 

  • Help drive general awareness around Sustainability within the entire BIA Group, by helping organize specific Sustainability related training modules with HR, help draft Power Point presentations on various topics, help organize specific Sustainability related teambuilding or Well-Being events, engage employees in eco-friendly practices, …

 

Who are we looking for?

 

Education & Experience:

  • Masters either in engineering or business, law or economics, science or other qualifying degree, preferably with an environmental or sustainable development vocation/specialization. 
  • Experience in a role or position linked to Sustainability or Sustainable Development is a plus, or project manager role
  • Knowledge of: ESG core principles, the Sustainable Development Goals, Sustainability Reporting Standards (GRI, SAASB, …)
  • Basic knowledge of EU sustainability rules (CSRD, CBAM, Deforestation Regulation, etc.) or willingness to learn

 

Soft Skills:

  • Genuine interest in sustainability, curiosity, and eagerness to learn through research
  • Intellectually curious, open to complex regulatory/compliance topics while also managing hands-on administrative tasks
  • Strong project management, organizational skills, ability to work in autonomy under guidance
  • Excellent collaboration across departments, positive team player with constructive mindset
  • Fluent in English and French (oral and written)
  • Skilled in PowerPoint presentations
  • Data-driven: proficient in Excel for analysis and drawing valid conclusions
  • Adaptable, comfortable multitasking, handling diverse projects under tight deadlines, thriving in dynamic environments
