Summary
Provides effective & efficient technical interventions on products, equipment and systems used in the field operation, and under own scope of responsibility, in order to provide optimum satisfaction to the customers according to BIA’s maintenance contracts and SLA agreements.
What will be your responsibilities?
Core Responsibilities:
- Erect, configure, modify, maintain, troubleshoot and repair field equipment according to shop manuals - repair processes.
- To ensure continuous equipment functionality, maximum utilization, and availability; to complete preventive & curative maintenance as per instructions and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) standards.
- Follow planning instructions and respect reporting requirements. Represent Bia’s values on the field.
HSE:
- Maintain safe working conditions for people on site including himself, co-workers, visitors, subcontractors and broadly all parties who may be affected by the BIA group's activities.
- Maintain safe working practices ensuring conservation of company properties, equipment, and data.
Integrity:
- Ensure conservation of the environment in the broadest sense.
- Know and comply with the group's General HSE procedures and HSE policy.
- Identify, record and report any issue relating to health, safety and the environment.
- Initiate, provide and recommend solutions through defined reporting channels.
- Attend all HSE events that are compulsory or on request of HSE Management.
- Stop working, use the right to withdraw and interrupt any activity in the event of serious and imminent danger.
- Ask for help if any doubt on HSE issues.
- Ensure suitable wearing and maintenance of PPE.
- Always adopt a rational and reasonable attitude and act in a responsible manner.
Who are we looking for?
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma equivalent;
- Degree in Mechanical automotive / Mechanical Engineering or four (4) years of apprenticeship experience;
- Previous working experience as a workshop technician at least five (5) years.
- Technician Classification is based on experience, knowledge, and competence.
- Certification holder on Cummins Engines and Komatsu equipment.
Knowledge and Skills required:
- Written and Verbal communication skills. Ability to demonstrate and state facts to all contact people;
- Understanding of basic mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and structural systems;
- Knowledge to access company’s processes;
- Knowledge to access manufacturers parts and technical data, either via a manual- or computer system;
- Understanding of the Komatsu products (specifications, applications, operation, maintenance, structure and function, testing and adjusting and repair).
- Understanding of the Cummins products (specifications, applications, operation, maintenance, structure and function, testing and adjusting and repair).
- Experience in the maintenance, repair, and service of mining equipment.
- Experience working in mine sites.
- Able to diagnose faults and malfunctions; and to adjust, repair or replace all defective equipment parts, components or systems serviced at customer sites.
