Summary
The purpose of the GET and Undercarriage Specialist role is to undertake all phases, activities and tasks within the scope of assisting, managing, training for the preventive maintenance, overhaul and replacement of GET and Undercarriages on Dozers, Graders, Wheel Dozers and Shovels, as well as direct responsibility in achieving the financial targets. The main objective being to deliver the required market share outcome and achieve ultimate customer satisfaction through a seamless smooth service operation with high performance standards.
What will be your responsibilities?
- Ensure that the safety rules are always respected
- Ensure that high machine availability is maintained for optimum performance thanks to correct use and maintenance of GETs and Undercarriages
- Promote best practices principles in line with the Maintenance Management System and the OEM GETs/ Undercarriages standards (on lip installation, weldment and maintenance)
- Supervise maintenance works (scope of work and supply, duration, and quality), following site procedures, and monitoring the respect of operational guidelines
- Coach & mentor individuals within the team.
- As part of the team, ensure compliance with objectives and key performance indicators from both clients and Bia sides
- Have a proactive approach to identify issues, propose mitigation actions and solutions.
- Assist and execute if required on the buckets and wear package (incl. GETs) inspection, using the right measurement tools and creating the Weekly inspection report including recommendations on changes and repair based on wear rate and performance
- Prepare, execute and follow offers, either directly or through PMs and PSSRs.
- Collect all data to ensure accurate forecasting of GET and Undercarriages change outs and identify works and orders that need to be done with a 3-month and 12-month horizon.
- Coordinate GET and Undercarriages stock management and replenishment with supply chain to avoid air shipment or stock shortage, updating the S&OP in due time
- Do a monthly report and recommendations for sites management and central management
- Ensure all documentation is clear, updated and complete, using the correct templates and sharing them with the relevant stakeholders in due time
- Continuously maintain and improve the quality of services that will exceed the client standard sets of quality expectations for maintenance
Who are we looking for?
Education & Experience:
- Experience with Heavy Equipment
- GET and undercarriage experience
- At least 5 years mining experience.
- At least 3 years’ experience on related earth-moving equipment.
- Stock management experience
- Commercial experience
- Good understanding of maintenance
- Good communication and inter-personal skills
- International work experience including the ability to work effectively across different business cultures.
- Position based in Guinea
- Good English Language Skills (Written and Oral)
