Summary
The Deputy Site Manager is responsible for:
-Ensuring the proper operation of machine fleets (performance and conditions) under customer
-contract on the concerned site in compliance with BIA and OEM (Komatsu) maintenance prescriptions and procedures;
-Acting as interim Site Manager in his/her absence.
-Assist the Site Manager in the day-to-day management of the site
What will be your responsibilities?
1. Quality:
-Participate in the implementation of the quality plan.
-Ensure involvement, knowledge, understanding, and application of quality standards.
-Proactively report opportunities for improvement and non-conformities.
-Monitor and analyze defined KPIs.
2. HSE:
-Participate in the update of the risk analysis.
-Ensure compliance with and application of HSE operating procedures.
-Raise staff awareness of risk prevention prior to each activity and promote the identification of hazards in work areas. Supervise the completion of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) prior to any risky activity.
-Ensure that all employees under your responsibility wear and care for their PPE and use the right tools/equipment for the job (maximizing service life and performance).
-Define and propose to the HSE department the training needs of the teams and ensure their active participation in these training sessions.
-Participate in all mandatory HSE meetings and periodically lead safety meetings.
-Raise staff awareness of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to the activity.
-Monitor HSE indicators and participate in their improvement.
-Ensure that work areas and tools/equipment are in good condition.
-Report any incidents or accidents to the HSE team and management.
3. Job:
Fleet Manager:
-Manage the "Assistant Fleet Manager," "Foremen," and their teams: organize work, dispatch teams, and optimize their occupation. Carry out the "People@BIA" exercise for your work group in accordance with BIA requirements.
-Conduct inspections, preventive maintenance operations, breakdowns, and repairs on mining equipment within the framework of the contract (Full or Simple RAMP) to ensure contractual availability at optimized costs.
-Ensure the quality of technical diagnostics and interventions on equipment in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications.
-Task planning: management and preparation of resources, parts, and tools to reduce the proportion of emergency orders.
-Reporting and analysis of data to support continuous improvement.
-Master machine knowledge (study of shop manuals, parts books, etc.).
-Teach, coach, and develop team knowledge.
-Conduct daily inspections, perform diagnostics, analyze machine data (VHMS, KOWA, etc.), and organize corrective maintenance.
-Analyze breakdowns: frequency, MTBF, and suggest improvements. Produce breakdown reports and submit technical files (TSI, QTQA, etc.).
-Monitor daily SMRs and transmit to Planning and customer reports (PLM, weekly reports, etc.).
-Supply the Planning Department and management with technical data, including but not limited to, work in progress, to be planned, completed jobs, backlogs, etc.
-Establish, complete, and/or validate parts lists to be ordered for all scheduled jobs (midlife, OVH, etc.), reducing stock and unused parts to a minimum.
-Validate requests to remove parts from the warehouse.
-Maintain order and cleanliness in workplaces and service vehicles.
-Propose tool purchases to improve our OEM's standards.
-Use existing ERP management systems and Komatsu and/or business tools (SAP and/or others, SMAP, EQPCare, etc.).
Deputy Site Manager:
-Act as Site Manager in their absence.
-Assist the Site Manager in the day-to-day management of the site.
-Assist the Site Manager in the implementation of projects.
4. Reporting:
-Respect hierarchical levels, use them wisely, and understand communication channels.
-Report any abnormal situations to the Planning Manager and line management for action.
-Attend maintenance and safety meetings as requested by management.
-Participate in the creation of the monthly activity report
Who are we looking for?
Education & Experience:
-Holder of a technical degree or equivalent years of experience (electromechanics or mechanics)
-Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in the field
-Experience in Africa or as an expatriate is essential
-Mining experience (at least in public works) is essential
-Knowledge of KOMATSU machines is an asset but not mandatory
-Strong technical expertise
-Computer skills: ERP (SAP proficiency is a plus) + MS Office
-Languages: French and English (English is a plus)
-Leadership: must be a manager, leader, charismatic
-Teamwork and communication skills
-Computer skills: ERP + Microsoft Office
-People Management experience
