Summary
Working alongside the Project Manager (PM), the Deputy Project & Contract Manager will be responsible for managing, structuring, organising, monitoring and developing the After Sales mining project(s) (100% mining only) entrusted to him/her, as well as setting up new contracts in line with the Group's strategy.
What will be your responsibilities?
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead project supporting Global and local Mining projects in specific tasks (Fact & Data based analysis for Business decision)
- Support Standardization, harmonization of Report and process. Generate new ideas and bring them to live.
- Align new BIA and OEM tools development with BU Mining Project Manager & customer needs. (IT and new technology)
- Develop use of integrated OEM solutions for service to become leaner in our operation.
- Support SAP deployment aligned and tailored for Mining Business
- Resource planning Mid to LT term understanding (Qty, competencies,) / visibility (Build global service team needs aligned w/ business opportunities)
Main Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
1. Project Management
- To support Project Operation Manger in follow-up with Project Managers in structuring, organizing, managing and the coordinating their projects.
- To provide technical support to the project staff.
- To identify, to set up and to follow-up on project management improvement initiatives (process improvement).
- To report gap in Project Managers knowledge to allow for optimal project management (Komatsu products, ICT tools, project management).
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Manager from time to time.
- To support Project Managers in setting up and in negotiating investment & financing requests that are linked to the projects.
- To creating reports that detail project status and results.
- To ensure that all project documentation is up to date and accurate.
2. Commercial
- Setting up of action plans for the development of parts selling for all the projects in collaboration with the parts department, and with the PSSR & PSSO’s.
- To ensure projects are covered by a profitable service contract.
- To participle to contract structure and recommendations.
- The Deputy Project Managers is supporting objectives set for parts & service sales for their respective projects.
- To Support strategic commercial decisions, to report them, and to ensure effective decision making
- To support and/or implement all actions aiming at improving profit margins of the different projects
3. People Management
- To define the training needs of the team members
- To attend all project meetings and take detailed minutes.
4. Reporting
- To support project reviewing organization for each project; to draw a synopsis of project reviews and to report to management
- To Support Business KPI reporting format improvement and automatic life update w/ IT support
- To complete customer reporting (minimum once/month)
5. Global QHSE – Process
- To ensure the respect of QHSE standards (internal and customer standards if applicable) and to ensure proper reporting to management
- To ensure the harmonization of projects documentation (project review, reporting...)
- To ensure projects processes harmonization support to Project Operation Mgr initiative
Who are we looking for?
Education & Qualification:
- University degree (Diploma or Degree in Engineering)
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience
- Fluent in English & French
- Prior experience with OEM tool such as Komtrax, SmartFleet is plus
- Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Package & SAP
