Summary
The candidate must plan, prioritize, and manage technical service activities/team; prioritize tasks and assign team members to ensure that the team’s resources are used effectively, equipment is maintained to the highest standards, and that customer service agreements are fulfilled.
What will be your responsibilities?
Safety
• Self-Training – expected to continuously increase your technical knowledge and expertise through self-study and through the various training courses/programs provided to you by the company or OEM’s
• Self-Development to a high level of performance with respect to technical product knowledge, troubleshooting, fault finding and equipment application
• Represent Bia’s values on the field
HSE
• Ensure HSE standard and HSE procedures are properly complied with by the teams at each stage of the activities
• Promote the identification of hazard in the work areas
• Carry out a safety briefing with the teams prior to starting the tasks
• Ensure that all employees wear PPE suitable to their task and in good condition
• Define the HSE training needs for its teams
• Ensure a risk analysis (take5, JHA) is done before each activity and in each work area the employee is responsible for
• Ensure the controls needed are in place and enforced, and correct immediately if this is not the case
• Attend HSE events that are compulsory or on request of HSE Management
Others:
• Develop, evaluate, and review technical service procedures and standards; monitor the cost and effectiveness of activities to optimize resources, prioritize spending, and achieve timeliness, reliability, and customer satisfaction standards
• Plan, prioritize, and implement service activities to fulfill maintenance contracts and service-level agreements
• Estimate the cost, time, and resources required for installations, upgrades, and other technical services; prepare work orders and monitor the progress of work against estimates
Who are we looking for?
- Mechanical/Electrical technical engineering or equivalent experience/education, with at least 5 years of experience with mechanical/electrical diesel traction with preference in the maintenance or heavy haulage equipment within the mining industry;
- International business experience including the ability to work effectively across different business cultures;
- French & English Language Skills (Written and Oral);
- Experience with Heavy Equipment (Komatsu / Cummins) and with shovels is preferred;
- Equipment management, preferably mining with Diesel Electric, and Team management experience;
- Experience in Africa or as an expat is preferable;
- Problem solving, troubleshooting, while working with others to reach a resolution;
- Ability to overview situations, review and evaluate, defining set plans to achieve service maintenance goals;
- Careful planning to achieve accurate and timely results;
- Must be able to meet deadlines and work under pressure against competing priorities and timelines;
- Able to take initiatives and work in a dynamic environment;
- Must be able to manage stress when difficult conditions arises.
