Summary

  • Be responsible for the compliance of the local accounting with BIA accounting standards and local statutory standards.
  • Work in close collaboration (one team spirit) with the Accounting Shared Service Center to:

       - Ensure monthly "on time in full" accounting closing
       - Collect, file and archive all supporting documents
       - Ensure true and fair value of the financial statements of the entity
       - Maintain the accuracy of all the accounts

  • Prepare the balance sheet reviews and properly justify and document all balance sheet accounts.
  • Ensure the compliance of the entity with all the tax obligations (reporting, filing, documentation, etc.) and accounting audit requirements
     

What will be your responsibilities?

  •  General management and supervision of the accounting. Ensure that the accounting comply with the accounting assertions (completeness, accuracy, cut-off, presentation, etc.) and is documented by adequate supporting documents.
  • Manage the relationship with the SSC team to ensure smooth and efficient accounting processes and one team spirit. Identify potential issues and solve them in collaboration with the SSC. Organize regular recurrent meetings with the SSC to ensure the follow-up of the accounting process.
  •  Ensure compliance of the accounting with Group accounting processes and procedures and develop ad hoc local processes in line with legal requirements when required. In case of discrepancy ensure that it is communicated & validated at Group level.
  • Supervise the preparation of the financial statements.
  • Be the person of contact for the external auditors. Ensure a smooth and efficient external audit process and ensure successful audit outcome.
  •  Organize and supervise the payments process.
  •  Organize and supervise the management of the receivables (reporting, credit committees & cash collection). 
  •  Preparation of all tax reporting (VAT, income tax, etc.). Be the point of contact of tax auditors.   
  • HR - salaries: share booking entries with SSC.    

Who are we looking for?

  • Degree in Business Management or Accounting or equivalent 
  • 3-5 years' experience in Accounting within an international organisation
  • Knowledge of African environment/ working experience in an African country is preferred
