Summary

 

Define and implement end-to-end procurement strategies for both direct and indirect categories to ensure optimal supply performance and service levels across the organization.
For indirect procurement, coordinate supply flows and lead strategic sourcing initiatives to maximize service delivery while minimizing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
For direct procurement, oversee the contractual and Supply Performance of OEM partners, ensuring alignment with business needs, supply reliability, and consistent application of contract terms – excluding all aspects related to pricing or price negotiation.  

What will be your responsibilities?

 

1.Purchasing Strategy & Supplier Performance

  • Define, implement, and evaluate procurement strategies for both direct (OEM) and indirect categories across Bia Group.
  • Implement and lead the Supplier Performance Management process.
  • Define and monitor supplier performance KPIs, ensuring alignment with business and operational objectives.
  • Regularly assess the performance of procurement strategies and drive corrective or improvement actions as needed.

 

2.Contract Management

  • Standardize contract creation and revision processes, including general terms, templates, and legal/operational requirements to ensure the respect of operational objectives
  • Define and monitor contract management KPIs, including financial metrics for contract review and governance.
  • Ensure consistent and fair application of contract terms with OEMs across all Group entities.

 

3.Procurement Flow Management (Direct & Indirect)

  • Implement and manage supply flows in accordance with defined procurement strategies.
  • Oversee the end-to-end procurement process from business need to supplier delivery, including RFQ, negotiation (excluding pricing), contract execution, and system integration.
  • Identify, track, and ensure collection of all OEM-related credits, such as performance penalties and volume returns

 

4.Spend Analysis & Continuous Improvement

  • Analyze direct (OEM) and indirect spend across the Group to identify performance and cost optimization opportunities.
  • Define or adjust procurement strategies based on data insights and in coordination with internal stakeholders (Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, etc.).

 

5.Manage Group Purchasing team

  • Work closely with HR to ensure the operational and daily management of the team in compliance with BIA’s policies as defined by HR (including recruitment, objective setting, performance evaluation, learning and personal development plans, talent review, holiday and expense review, and approval).
  • Lead & Provide coaching, training, and support to team members 
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment 

Who are we looking for?

 

Education & Experience:

  • Master degree (business or technical degree) with proven experience in technical & indirect purchasing, spend analysis, negotiation & contract management.
  • Fluent in French and English, Dutch is a asset
  • SAP demonstrated knowledge
  •  APICS certification (or equivalent) is a plus
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience Indirect & Technical Purchasing
  • Incoterms/ Freight forwarding / Transportation/Inter-company flows
  • International Business experience (with Africa is a plus)
  • Heavy equipment, mining and/or construction industry is definitely a plus
