Summary
You are part of a team of engineers that is the central linking pin to calculate a competitive Total Cost of Operation on machine sales and after-sales with regard to performance, productivity (client cost per ton), fuel and parts consumption, reliability and warranty. Together with colleagues in Finance you minimize project risk and you optimize financing, margin and credit coverage.
Tasks and responsibilities are shared among the members of the Project Engineering team:
- Provide sales support and start execution of complex sales contracts
- Ensure engineering support for specific requests (technical/economic feasibility)
- Help improve internal processes (quality, information sharing)
- Support other members of the team in their respective tasks
- Develop technical and sales data bases in line with each customer’s requirements. These data bases are related to each operational field: machines, parts & services
- Support Area Sales Manager in the proposal preparation and during the final negotiation phase of complex proposals
- Be the project leader for the implementation of new projects. Coordinate the BIA departments to meet goals
- Be the point of contact for special suppliers or engineering offices involved in a specific project
- Train and coach another team member or new sales people when required
What will be your responsibilities?
1. Establish/ Build/ Maintain databases related to
- OEM’s machines specifications
- Accessories to be mounted on OEM’s machines for commissioning
- Tooling requested for the assembly/maintenance
- CpH/Kird calculations
- Cost per ton calculation
- Calculation tools for Ramp, SLA proposals
- Framework contracts (Ramp, SLA,…)
- RSPL - Centralization of the manufacturer quotations of accessories
2. Sales support
A. Pre-qualification file necessary for future tender
- Fill in standard specifications for prequalification/ budget.
B. Projects in budgetary phase
- OFR
- Ramp matrix discussion with customer
- Ramp organization and budgetary proposal
- Accessories on machines
- Special equipment (options, service trucks,…)
- Maintenance infrastructure
C. Sales tender for machine sales
- Detailed equipment proposal including specifications, options etc…
- Base service proposal with different options
- Initiate negotiation pf special conditions from OEM
3. Contract & Project execution
- Definition of base planning and budget
- Preparation of assembly and follow up
- Tooling assembly and service
- Customer to support the design of his maintenance infrastructure
- Analysis/Technical specification of options (body, antifire,…)
- Analysis/Technical specification of special equipment
- Analysis of service related to equipment (maintenance building, service truck,..)
- Initial Parts and component stock proposal
- Sales proposal of swing components
- Development of Reman/Rebuild strategy
- SLA and PSA contracts
- Support contracts OEM's including Cummins
- Preparation of assembly if not yet handed over to Project execution
- Start service support on machine commissioned if not yet handed over to Project execution
4. Training/ Coaching
- Organize regular training for salespeople
- Train/coach new Project Engineers and Project Officer in function of the needs
- Manage the work of an integrated team of different department (After sales, Sales, Finance,) in charge of a new Project in an operational way
5. QHSE
- Assess commercial risk for new calls for tender
- Assess operational risks (safety, security and environmental) for starting projects
- Define project related mitigation plan
- Provide mitigation plan to project execution
Who are we looking for?
- Engineering degree and a strong technical background
- Ideally a first relevant working experience in project management and business development
- Fully proficient in English with a very good level of French (occasional French speaking projects)
- Customer-oriented mindset
- Able to work in a business and organization in constant evolution
